In this article, we’ll cover how to beat the Mega Pidgeot ex Drop event in the fastest and most efficient way possible—so let’s dive right in.

Mega Pidgeot ex Drop Event (Beginner)

Battle Task

MissionReward
Knock Out your opponent’s Active Pokémon 1 time with an attack from a Lightning-type PokémonPokémon TCG Pocket Event Hourglass 4
Put 3 Basic Pokémon into playPokémon TCG Pocket Event Hourglass 4

The opponent's deck is composed of Flying which are weak to Lightning. So you can run your strongest Lightning deck. We are running one of the strongest Lightning decks so far from Mega Rising and it's also because we don't want an ex for the later difficulties.

We are running Zeraora as a fast attacker we can deploy as soon as possible to easily take knockouts. We have Magnezone as our backup damage dealer if Zeraora goes down. We search Magnemite, evolve it into Magneton to start using its ability to gain Lightning energy for free then evolve to Magnezone as huge damage dealer. Chingling is here at the moment but its use will be for later for higher difficulties and they have Rare Candy but it's not really needed, just something to add the basic pool. Copycat lets us exhaust our hand then refill it to find Magnezone fast. May can also find the whatever we need so you may try to hold off on some of the Pokemon in hand if you have May.

Sabrina, Repel, and Cyrus are to let you catch up into higher prioritized threats mostly to target Pidgey.

Mega Pidgeot ex Drop event (Intermediate)

Battle Task

MissionReward
Knock Out your opponent’s Active Pokémon 1 time with an attack from a Lightning-type PokémonPokémon TCG Pocket Event Hourglass 3
Put a Stage 1 Pokémon into playPokémon TCG Pocket Event Hourglass 4
Win this battle with 2 or more Mega Rising cards included in your deckPokémon TCG Pocket Event Hourglass 4

You can play the same deck listed above—refer to the earlier sections for how they work. Since there’s a mission to put Stage 1 Pokémon into play, you definitely need to evolve Magnemite into Magneton.

The objective to win within 14 turns is very manageable since the deck is fast.

Mega Pidgeot ex Drop event (Advanced)

Battle Task

MissionReward
Knock Out your opponent’s Active Pokémon 1 time with an attack from a Lightning-type PokémonPokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Hourglass 4
Win this battle without any Pokémon ex included in your deckPokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Hourglass 4
Win this battle with 6 or more Mega Rising cards included in your deckPokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Hourglass 4
Win this battle without your opponent getting any pointsPokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Hourglass 4

Since the missions requires winning with a Lightning and using only Pokémon of ♦, ♦♦, and/or ♦♦♦ rarity, we will stick with the same deck as mentioned above as well. For full details, refer to the earlier sections of this guide.

We are now fighting Mega Pidgeot ex which can be troublesome with its attack removing energy and high HP. I would recommend just resetting if you encounter Mega Pidgeot ex. The deck is geared towards sniping Pidgey as fast as possible with Sabrina or Repel. If they ever put Mega Pidgeot ex, you can still use Sabrina or Cyrus to swap it out.

For the mission to win without the opponent scoring any points and Mega Rising cards, this can be more challenging with a non-EX deck. I would recommend switching to an EX deck with huge HP and damage. For now, I will just recommend a Mega Blaziken with Entei since Entei can tank ensuring we won't take any knockout.

Mega Pidgeot ex Drop event (Expert)

Battle Task

MissionReward
Win this battle without any Pokémon ex included in your deckPokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Hourglass 5
Win this battle with 12 or more Mega Rising cards included in your deckPokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Hourglass 5
Win this battle with 1 or more Mega Evolution Pokémon ex included in your deckPokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Hourglass 5
Win 5 or more battlesPokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Hourglass 5
Win 10 or more battlesPokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Hourglass 5

We're just going to repeat the strategy from the Advanced section. There will now be two Mega Pidgeots so it will even be a harder one. Slotting in an Oricorio or two can probably help. Chingling also helps in this matchup specifically because of the Rare Candy. I would still recommend trying to snipe Pidgey or Pidgeotto.

As for the Mega Evolution mission and 12 Mega Rising cards. You can play with any Mega Evolution you have as long as you finish the Win this battle without any Pokémon ex included in your deck mission first. I would recommend the Mega Blaziken Heatmor deck since it can easily snipe Pidgey and grab it with Cyrus or use a Sabrina to swap out Mega Pidgeot ex. Having Mega Blaziken attack first into Mega Pidgeot will make sure we KO it first, Flame Patch can also help with the energy discard.
