In this article, we’ll cover how to beat the Slowpoke Drop event in the fastest and most efficient way possible, so let’s dive right in.
Slowpoke Drop event (Beginner)
Battle Task
| Mission | Reward |
|---|---|
| Knock Out your opponent’s Active Pokémon 1 time with an attack from a Lightning-type Pokémon | 4 |
| Put 3 Basic Pokémon into play | 4 |
How to Beat it
The opponent's deck is composed of Water type which are weak to Lightning and some Normal type. Ideally running a Lightning deck would make it easier. It is also important to put 3 Pokemon in the board to fulfill the other mission as well.
As for the deck choice, we have two options that can fulfill all the other missions as well later. There's really not much variation due to 12 Mega Shine cards requirement. You can replace the other Trainers as long as it's in the Mega Shine set.
The idea is to just evolve into Raichu or Mega Manectric ex and just deal damage. Mega Manectric is a Mega so just avoid getting it knocked out. Maintenance synergizes with Hiking Trail to reduce your hand and then drawing at the end of your turn. Copycat can also benefit from a smaller hand. Sabrina is to avoid any large Pokemon to get quick fast knockouts.
The other deck mostly operate the same way but lacks the higher damage of Mega Manectric, also the free retreat is offset by X Speed. Electivire and Magmortar give bonus to each other if they are both available. As for the energy, you can run both but it's better to only do Lightning energy since we want to knock out with Electivire most of the time for the mission. So the other deck is definitely much preferable, it just depends on what cards you own.
Slowpoke Drop event (Intermediate)
Battle Task
| Mission | Reward |
|---|---|
| Knock Out your opponent’s Active Pokémon 1 time with an attack from a Lightning-type Pokémon | 3 |
| Put a Stage 1 Pokémon into play | 4 |
| Win this battle with 2 or more Mega Shine cards included in your deck | 2 |
How to Beat it
We are just using the same decks again since we do both run Stage 1s as our win conditions while also fulfilling the 2 Mega Shine cards in our deck easily.
As for how to play the deck, check the earlier sections of the guide.
Slowpoke Drop event (Advanced)
Battle Task
| Mission | Reward |
|---|---|
| Knock Out your opponent’s Active Pokémon 1 time with an attack from a Lightning-type Pokémon | 4 |
| Win this battle with 1 or more Mega Evolution Pokémon ex included in your deck | 4 |
| Win this battle with 6 or more Mega Shine cards included in your deck | 4 |
| Win this battle without your opponent getting any points | 4 |
How to Beat it
Since we need a Mega Evolution for one of the missions, the Mega Manectric deck is much more preferable. If you don't have Mega Manectric, you can still use the Electivire deck and play another deck with a Mega Evolution included. As for how to play the deck, check the earlier sections of the guide. Try not to let your opponent take a point by swapping Pokemon to tank hits.
Slowpoke Drop event (Expert)
Battle Task
| Mission | Reward |
|---|---|
| Win this battle without any Pokémon ex included in your deck | 5 |
| Win this battle with 12 or more Mega Shine cards included in your deck | 5 |
| Win this battle with 1 or more Mega Evolution Pokemon cards included in your deck | 5 |
| Win 5 or more battles | 5 |
| Win 10 or more battles | 5 |
How to Beat it
We can start off initially with the Mega Manectric deck to do the Mega Evolution mission and also have 12 Mega Shine cards already. If you don't have Mega Manectric though, you need to use the Elecitvire deck and play another deck with a Mega Evolution. You can replace some of the Trainers with anything from Mega Shine set if you are missing some.
As for the win without using any Pokemon ex, the other deck can do this easily but because we already finished the 12 Mega Shine cards earlier, you can just practically play another non-ex deck. You can check our decks with no-ex as format.
