Hello, I'm Clyde, and I'm here to talk about one of our new cards in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion: A2-049. Although A2-049 is the focus, A2-050 is truly the star here. A2-049 has a 1-energy Slash attack that deals 30 damage, making it useful in the early game. Its Dimensional Storm attack deals 150 damage and clears most Pokémon, but it costs 4 energy. This is where A2-050 comes in, doing a lot of the heavy lifting with its Oceanic Gift ability, which lets us gain energy for A2-049 and another Pokémon on the bench, ideally A1a-061, which we will evolve into A1a-019.

Pros | Cons |
+If you start with A2-050 and have A2-049 on the bench, you are most likely able to win because you can clear a Pokémon right away with all the energy. If you have A1a-019, you can transfer the other energies from A1a-019 to A2-049 again to clear another Pokémon. | - You discard 3 energy after a Dimensional Storm, so that's why we need A2-050 to gain a lot of energy for us. |
+ We also have A1-220 in the deck, which increases our chances of gaining energy. It's actually game-winning if you manage to hit heads. | - Highly reliant on starting with A2-050 by a huge margin. |
+ Dimensional Storm's 150 damage clears most enemy. |

- A2-049 - The beef or meat of the deck which provides our power. It's A2-049, making it our win condition and ideally the one we will provide energy to from A2-050.
- A2-050 - The noodles or heart of the deck is A2-050, since it's the key element. It will provide energy for A2-049 to get it up and running so ideally you want to start with this card.
- A1a-019 - The broth of the deck is A1a-019. Its ability, Wash Out, allows us to realign our excess energy provided by A2-050, making sure we always have energy for A2-049.
- A1-220 - The egg of the deck is A1-220. Don't think of A1-220 as a win condition but rather a bonus if it hits heads. A2-050 is still mostly the win condition.
- A1a-068 will be able to retreat an A1a-061 or A2-049 if we start with them so we can use A2-050 instead.
- PROMO-007PROMO-005 - Our mandatory card draws are our veggies, which are highly important.
- Giant Cape is needed so that A2-050 or A2-049 can survive certain thresholds from the 50 hp at the start and the 150 hp in the end, for example against another A2-049 or Mew. So, another turn of A2-050 is always great.
- Cyrus is incredibly potent here since Dimensional Storm hits everybody. We can knock out anything, especially an EX Pokémon, for that sweet two points.
- Sabrina is the most flexible card in this deck and the one that you will most likely replace, but I advocate for putting it in your deck because the a2-110-darkrai-ex a2-53-magnezone matchup is atrocious. Sabrina is your only chance in fighting that matchup so you can swap either a2-53-magnezone or a2-110-darkrai-ex, both of which help in defeating A2-049. I have gameplay to show you that later on.
Alternatives
- Cyrus - If you don't like Sabrina, there's another Cyrus, which is also good
- X Speed - to gain free energy from A2-050 that you can transfer later on from A1a-019 or use to switch out A2-049.
- A1-084 - is also something you can consider if you don't want to rely on Dimensional Storm, but since we rely on A2-050 a lot, removing one A1a-061 for A1-084 can maintain consistency.
