Strengths & Weaknesses
Pros | Cons |
+ Insane early game—A3a-060 chips in, A3a-061 hits for 100, then A2-089 swings for 130. | - Both A3a-060 and A2-089 have 2 Retreat Cost, so can be hard to pivot around. |
+ Consistent too—guaranteed A3a-060 start, with A3a-067 helping you find A3a-061 fast. | - Weak to hand disruptors like Red Card and A2-155 due to low basic count and reliance on A3-144. |
+ Even crazier going second—A3a-061 can hit for 100 right away with just 2 Energy. | |
+ Currently the fastest deck in the game—easily one of the best picks in Extradimensional Crisis right now. |
How to Play Silvally Rampardos
The core strategy is simple: open with A3a-060, evolve into A3a-061, and start swinging for 100 as long as you play a Supporter. A2-089 backs it up with 130 damage once you get A3-144 access. You’ll snowball quickly if your opponent can’t keep pace by Turn 2.
Early Priorities
- Your first goal is to find A3a-061 as early as possible so you can start swinging for 100 every turn.
- If A3a-060 is about to get KO’d, evolve it into A3a-061 to keep it alive—if it’s going down no matter what, focus on setting up a new one instead.
- Use PROMO-005 first to grab another A3a-060—this lets A3a-067 focus solely on finding A3a-061.
- If you don’t need A3a-061 immediately, it’s usually better to lead with PROMO-007 to dig deeper into your deck.
- But if you do need A3a-061 that turn, A3a-067’s the better option early since it has a higher chance of finding it.
- Playing your Fossil right away is usually correct—even if it’s vulnerable to A1-225. A2-155 and PROMO-006 are far more common threats right now, so you don’t want to hold back development.
- If you already have A3a-061 and a decent hand, there are times where it’s best to hold onto PROMO-007. This ensures you have a Supporter ready when attacking with A3a-061 and also protects you from PROMO-006 or A2-155 disruption.
- Same goes for A3a-067—it’s often worth holding if it’s your only Supporter and you’ve got another A3a-060 in hand already. This guarantees you can keep A3a-061 active each turn. If you don’t have another A3a-060, it’s riskier, but still usually the right move since you can’t count on drawing into more Supporters.
- As mentioned in my other guides—if you want to reset your hand, baiting a PROMO-006, A2b-069 or A2-155 is a good way to do it. Try to keep your hand at four or more if you’re okay with a reset, and below three if you want to avoid one.
- You can use A2-155 when going first to limit your opponent’s options early, especially to slow down their access to PROMO-007 or A3-144. While PROMO-006 usually does this more effectively, A2-155 still has value—especially in the mirror. In that matchup, it’s often worth playing A2-155 immediately to make it harder for your opponent to find A3a-061 and keep up.
Midgame
- Once you have A3a-061 set up, you’re in a strong spot—just keep playing Supporters each turn to maintain the 100 damage.
- Hold onto A3a-067 if you don’t have any other Supporter—it’s often your backup plan. A lot of the time, you’ll end up burning cards like A1-223 or even A2b-069 just to meet the condition for A3a-061 to attack for 100.
- If you’ve drawn A2-088, it’s usually best to evolve your Fossil right away to avoid getting reset by A2b-069. But if you already have A3-144 and A2-089 ready, go for that combo first—it protects you from PROMO-006, A2-155, or A2b-069 disruption.
- Keep an eye on your switching options. Both A3a-060 and A2-089 have high Retreat Costs, so plan ahead—you won’t always be able to pivot freely.
- In most cases, burn through A3a-061 first before using A2-089 since A2-089 has recoil damage. But if A2-089 won’t take a knockout and can survive a hit, it’s safer to use it instead to avoid recoil. Just manage your Energy carefully when retreating.
- The most important part of the midgame is how you manage your Supporters. A3a-061 relies on playing one every turn, and this deck wins by pushing damage early and never slowing down.
How to Deal with the Mirror
Since you will be facing a lot of mirrors in this deck since its really strong at the moment.
- If you're going first
- Sometimes it’s better to let your active A3a-060 go—your opponent will get the first hit and evolve into A3a-061 to one-shot yours before you can attack.
- Instead, focus on charging up another A3a-060 on the bench so you can strike back. If you have A1-223, this swing turn can flip the game in your favor.
- Going into A2-089 is even stronger here—it can one-shot their A3a-061, and if they respond with A2-089, that’s still fine. If you’re also building a new A3a-061, you’ll be ready to take out their A2-089 right after.
- If you're going second
- This is where you have the upper hand—you get to attack first and can even one-shot their A3a-060 right away.
- But expect them to give up their active A3a-060, just like you would. In that case, sometimes it’s better not to KO it immediately. Instead, use that turn to prep a backup—another A3a-060 or even a Fossil into A2-089. This way, when they bring in A2-089 as a revenge play, you can also knock that down.
- If they’re forced to attack with an unprepared A3a-060 and knock out your A3a-061 with their A3a-061, that’s still okay—as long as you’ve got a second attacker ready to respond or there might even be a chance you get to knock them out with just A3a-060’s 40 damage.
- In some situations, delaying your attack is even better if you haven’t drawn into your next attacker yet. Stalling buys time to assemble your other attackers, making sure you can stagger your knockouts.
- A1-225 will be very important in the mirror since you can snipe their A3a-060 and especially the Fossil, since A2-089 is usually the scary threat.
- Same as the advice above, A2-155 is very potent in the mirror and usually correct to play early to delay A3-144 or A3a-061.
Card Choices
Core
Must-have cards the deck relies on to function.
- A3a-060 – Better to evolve into A3a-061 if it’s about to get KO’d—if it’s going down anyway, just set up another A3a-060 instead.
- A3a-061 – Deals 100 damage as long as you play a Supporter—so you’ll often hold onto them just to keep attacks going.
- A2-088 – Less reliance on A3-144; 50 damage can still pressure early if needed.
- A2-089 – Acts as a backup 130-damage attacker to keep the pressure going.
- A2-144 – Vulnerable to A1-225 so protect if you can.
- PROMO-007 – Sometimes best to hold it if you’ve got A3a-061 already and a decent hand—also protects against PROMO-006 and A2-155.
- A3a-067 – Often best to hold it until you’re ready to attack with A3a-061—especially if it’s your only Supporter.
- A3-144 – Lets you go straight into A2-089 from the Fossil—making the pressure nonstop.
Adjustable
Flexible picks you can tweak based on meta or preference.
PROMO-005 – Used early to grab another A3a-060, making A3a-067 more consistent for finding A3a-061 but can actually be cut since there are times it can brick.
Optional
Cards that can be cut without hurting core consistency.
A2b-069 – Hail mary search and A3a-061 trigger—so you’ll often hold it if your hand’s already solid.
A1-225 – Strong in the mirror—lets you snipe A2-144 or A3a-060 before they can evolve.
A1-223 – Strong in the mirror—A3a-061’s 110 easily one-shots opposing A3a-061.
A2-155 – Stronger in the mirror and effective against many top decks right now.
Situational
Techs that only matter in specific matchups.
A2b-071 – Helps A2-089 hit 150 damage—especially useful in Giratina matchups.
A2-150 – Useful vs high-HP decks like Giratina—though tricky to trigger consistently with A3a-061.
PROMO-006 – Great if you really want to win the mirror—not a Supporter though, so it won’t help trigger A3a-061.
Final Thoughts
A3a-061 A2-089 is all about speed and pressure—and right now, no other deck matches its pace. With consistent openers, nonstop attacks, and strong mirror tools, it’s one of the best picks for climbing Ranked and performing in tournaments.
Mastering this deck comes down to how well you manage your Supporters and pace your attackers. If you can keep that flow going, you’ll overwhelm most opponents before they even get started.
