Gyarados ex & Vaporeon Deck (Mythical Island)

In all honesty, Gyarados EX seems underwhelming. This should be a walk in a park.

General F2P Expert Solo Battle Guides

  • Consider using rental decks to beat the stage. This is a good strategy especially if you're a new player. This allows for 100% completion without spending any money.
  • Complete tasks gradually. Challenge solo battles multiple times with different decks until all objectives are achieved. You DO NOT need to complete all tasks in one-sitting.
  • Key Supporting/Item Cards for Success (General Deck Building Guide):
    • promo-1-potion: 2 copies. Keep your Active Pokémon to survive longer giving you 1 or 2 extra turns while you setup your benched Pokémon or do some counterplays.
    • promo-5-poke-ball: 2 copies. Tutor cards from your deck and thin your deck for better draws.
    • promo-7-professors-research: 2 copies. Draw more cards for increased options and flexibility during your turn.
    • a1a-64-pokemon-flute: 1 or 2 copies. This card combos well with the a1-225-sabrina card. Bring a basic Pokémon for your opponent's bench and use a1-225-sabrina for an easy KO securing a point.
    • a1-272-sabrina: 1 or 2 copies. Force your opponent's EX Pokémon back to the bench to gain an advantage and potentially secure a match point.
    • promo-2-x-speed: Rotate your Active Pokémon with Benched Pokémon to prevent unnecessary knockouts and maximize the effectiveness of your setup. (Optional, as you can easily reset Solo Battles.)
    • a1a-82-leaf: None or 1 copy. Some Pokémon requires 2 energies to retreat and this card can help in clutch situations.
  • Use other decks: Once you have completed the "Win this battle using a deck where all the Pokémon cards are of ⟡, ⟡⟡, and/or ⟡⟡⟡ rarity" challenge, transition to more powerful decks featuring EX Pokémon. MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER.
  • Refer to our Guides Section and Tier List for deckbuilding inspiration and optimal strategies.

Recommended ⟡, ⟡⟡, and/or ⟡⟡⟡ Deck List

  • A standard Blaine deck should suffice. Like really. It works.
  • Best to go second and start spamming some fire attacks with a1-43-rapidash and a1-38-ninetales
  • For the deck list below, a1a-12-magmar should be a contingency plan. Deploy it only if you fail to draw a1-38-ninetales. In such scenario, a1a-12-magmar (with a1-221-blaine) should be used as a finisher to get your third point after all of your other Pokémon have been knocked out.
