The Cresselia ex Drop Event allows players to complete Battle Task missions, obtain rewards, and open Promo Pack A Series Vol. 4 booster packs to get a chance of opening one of five new Promo cards. Here's our recommended decklists and strategies so you can obtain all the rewards with ease!
Opponent's Beginner Deck
First Time Rewards
Chance Rewards
Battle Task
Mission | Reward |
---|---|
Knock Out your opponent's Active Pokémon 1 times with an attack from a Darkness-type Pokémon | 3 |
Put 3 Basic Pokémon into play | 3 |
How to Beat it
The beginner deck is fairly easy to beat since it consists of a random assortment of Pokémon with no synergy, making it vulnerable to almost any deck. However, due to the mission requirements.
We prefer to run a decent Darkness deck with a few more basics to ensure we can meet the goal of putting 3 Basic Pokémon into play like shown below.
Opponent's Intermediate Deck
First Time Rewards
Chance Rewards
Battle Task
Mission | Reward |
---|---|
Knock Out your opponent's Active Pokémon 2 times with an attack from a Darkness-type Pokémon | 3 |
Make your opponent's Pokémon Asleep 1 times | 3 |
Win this battle by turn 14 | 3 |
How to Beat it
The Intermediate deck is also quite easy with just tankier Pokemon so the only thing we need to worry is the making our opponent's Pokemon Asleep.
The deck below can reliably help you make your opponent asleep 1 time while also knocking out with a darkness-type Pokemon. You can also use A1-125 or A1a-036 if you're missing some of the cards.

How to Beat it
The advanced deck provides a bit of a challenge since they’re much tankier, and we can only use cards with a rarity of 3 ♦♦♦ or below while also not letting the opponent get any points.
The best way to complete the tasks is by doing them over multiple tries instead of in one go, as it’s difficult to finish all the tasks in a single game. The deck I'm presenting is sturdy enough to not let any of your Pokemon knocked out especially A1-177. The strategy is to tank with A1-177 and keep reusing it with A1-222 making it's health full again while A1-165 will be your other source of damage.Just retreat if your Pokemon is low enough and switch between your Pokemon.

How to Beat it
The expert deck is the most difficult one since they can constantly heal PROMO-037 with A1-132 making it much harder to take down.
Like in the previous challenge, you will do them over multiple tries instead of in one go. You can run the same deck like the one in advanced but it might prove to be a challenge because of the heals so I recommend running A1a-055 instead so you have more damage to deal. It is also faster than to rely on A1-165 so you can win by turn 12. Using the same strategy above, we tank with A1-177 and use A1a-055 to finish their Pokemon.
PROMO-037 Decks you can use
I've come up with certain decks you can use or take inspiration from. I also want to say that PROMO-037 is unfortunately kind of bad, hence they kind of gave it away for free. Even though PROMO-037 is the opposite of A2-110, it doesn't really do anything if its health is full. Even if you do heal, you are still prone to being one-shotted since 140 HP isn't large enough to survive some huge attacks in the game, so the energy you use for A2-110 is always more significant compared to PROMO-037. Being pressured by being damaged will always force your opponent to retreat. PROMO-037 enters the situation of being like PROMO-014, and we know PROMO-014 doesn't really see much play. The decks listed won't win you tournaments, that's for sure, but they are fun decks you can explore.
One discovery I realized after theorycrafting is that PROMO-037 doesn't really need A1-132, even though it gives it energy. Since the only thing A1-132 does is give you 20 HP at the cost of a Stage 2 evolution and you don't need the excess energy anyway, it's not depleting like A1-132. So it's better to focus on just frontlining with PROMO-037, whether it's healing or deflecting damage.
One good combo you can use is with A2-072, so A2-072 takes any damage PROMO-037 takes while A2-022 heals everyone. By also attaching A2-147 to PROMO-037, you can make sure to deflect most of the highest damage in the game outside of A1-036. The problem with the combo is it takes a while to get A2-072 online and it doesn't synergize with the heal from PROMO-037's ability since you will fully heal PROMO-037, making its ability useless, although it's the only card that can fully tank damage for PROMO-037. The other problem with the deck is you can mostly only deal a maximum of 80 damage per turn.
This next deck operates the same strategy of frontlining with PROMO-037, but this deck is slightly better because A1-007 heals better and A1-125's delay might work better than A2-072's soaking damage. You can also replace A1-125 with A2-022, but you run the risk of the opponent having too much high damage, which you can't keep up with. A2-147 should only be used for PROMO-037 to survive most damage in the game.
The final deck I'm presenting might be the best of the three because we're not focusing on PROMO-037 as our frontliner, but using it as a tank until we get A1a-038 online. Rocky Helmet can also be useful for depleting the enemy while you're waiting for A1a-038. This makes it less fun, but at least we are still able to use PROMO-037 while still winning. The most optimal version of A1a-038 is still without PROMO-037, but with A1a-032 instead. We also get to heal PROMO-037 after it's taken damage with A1a-038 and be able to use it again if needed.
