What are Pokémon Tools?

Tool cards are a brand-new addition to Pokémon TCG Pocket, though they have been part of the original Pokémon TCG since the Neo Genesis expansion. These cards allow players to equip their Pokémon with held items that provide various advantages, such as boosting stats, enhancing attacks, or adding unique gameplay effects. With 243 different Tool cards already existing in the original TCG, it's interesting to see what the developers will come up with for Pokémon Pocket.

In the Pokémon TCG, Tool cards have evolved over time, with the Scarlet & Violet series establishing them as a distinct category separate from Item cards. It is expected that each Pokémon will be able to hold one Tool card, adding strategic depth to battles. However, the specifics of how they will function in Pokémon TCG Pocket remain unknown, building excitement for their arrival (Finally, my Melmetal Deck will be OP).

How Will Pokémon Tools Shake the META?

The introduction of Pokémon Tool cards to Pokémon TCG Pocket is expected to revolutionize the competitive meta and deck-building strategies. These cards are likely to offer strategic benefits, such as reducing damage, enhancing attacks, or providing additional resources. Players will be able to use Tools to counter early-game aggression and maintain a competitive edge during battles.

With a limited deck size, adding Tool cards will force players to carefully balance their decks by prioritizing Tools alongside other essential card types. This change will likely lead to more variety in decks as players explore new strategies to suit their playstyles. With 140 new cards set to launch in the expansion, Tool cards will inject much-needed diversity into the current META. I look forward to see new decks breaking the monotony of predictable strategies nowadays.
