Introduction
While waiting for the Global Launch of Pokémon TCG Pocket, we have some juicy update leaks to enjoy! Credit goes to an Italian writer Andrea Ricci.
DISCLAIMER: ALL INFORMATION ARE SPECULATIVE AND MIGHT DIFFER FROM ACTUAL RELEASE OF THE GAME. Other than that, enjoy the global launch update leaks below 🙂
Maintenance, Team Gift, and Global Launch Details
Scheduled for October 29, Pokémon Pocket’s maintenance will set the stage for its global launch. Starting at 2:00 AM PDT, the maintenance aims to prepare the game for an influx of players. On October 30, players will receive a special thank-you gift for their support.
With the global launch also comes a big store update, including new items, special bundles, emblems, and cosmetic items. Hourglasses, a staple in the store, will be removed, with new themed accessories and exclusive items available for Poké Gold or via the Premium Pass.
Season 1 Begins with Exclusive Events and Rewards
October 30 marks the start of Season 1, introducing the "Genetic Apex" set, which will run for three months until January 29. Players can dive into the Chansey and Meowth event beginning October 31, which will feature the Meowth Shop and special challenges for themed rewards. Meanwhile, on November 4, the Drop Event will bring a new type of gameplay where active participation can unlock rare cards and exclusive items.
Major Upcoming Events and Black Friday Specials
November is packed with exciting events. Black Friday, on November 21, will introduce limited-time discounts and exclusive items, possibly including discounted Poké Gold, Premium Pass options, and rare cards.

Players can also participate in the fire-themed Mass Outbreak event from November 21 to November 28, which will feature frequent appearances of rarer Pokémon and special mission rewards. The highly anticipated second Drop Event will run from November 28 to December 12, providing more ways for players to engage and earn rewards (all details are still speculative at the moment).
December Event Highlights and Mini Set A1a Launch
December 5 begins the Bulbasaur and Magnemite event, featuring exclusive cards, themed cosmetics, and other rewards. The event continues with a special shop available until December 26, giving players the chance to redeem unique tokens for exclusive items.
Additionally, December 16 marks the launch of Mini Set A1a, which introduces new booster packs to probably shake up the META and introduce some new mechanics (maybe, who knows for sure).
New Features: Mystery Fishing Modes, Events Only Stamina System, and Ranking Levels
Pokémon Pocket will unveil three new Mystery Fishing modes, including Lucky Fishing, Rare Fishing, and Bonus Mystery Fishing. Each mode offers unique cards and consumables, enhancing players’ collection-building experience.
The ranking system will also be expanded to include levels from Bronze to Gold, with themed events and experience divisions.
A new stamina system for event battles (only affecting event gameplay NOT the regular versus mode matches) will limit consecutive matches, automatically recharging every 12 hours or using special hourglasses to speed up recovery.
January Set A2 and the Evolution of the Game Meta
On January 29, 2025, Set A2 will launch, featuring 226 new cards to expand the current meta and offer new strategies. Quarterly main set releases and mini-sets will follow, helping the game to stay fresh and making sure the META doesn't stay stale for a long period of time.
New Visual Effects, Card Rarities, and Gift Packages
Pokémon Pocket will also introduce a new Rainbow rarity, inspired by the Hyper Rare cards of the physical game, which will feature unique visuals and animations. With 97 visual effects for cards, players can customize their decks with Shinedust.
Additionally, the game will feature a variety of Gift Boxes as event rewards, enhancing gameplay with seasonal-themed gifts and exclusive rewards.
Mewtwo Premium Pass
Finally, the ranking system allows players to climb through various levels, earning badges and profile icons to showcase their skills.
A special Mewtwo card with alternate art will be available via the Premium Pass, offering exclusive access for committed players.

Overall, it's very very encouraging to see that the developers are planning waaay ahead of time to keep players engaged with this game. It looks like the developers will hit a sweet spot gaining $$$ from selling card binders, card sleeves and playmats while also encouraging free-to-play players and low spending players to keep playing the game with various events and free resources.
